Why should I Volunteer?
Girl Scout Trail and Sail Day Camp is a 100% volunteer-led camp. With volunteers like yourself, the camp is able to make a huge difference in the number of girls that can participate at camp!
Full-time volunteer's children (4-5 days) will have guaranteed placement in camp for their campers as long as all paperwork and payment are received no later than June 30th, 2022.
Part-time volunteers (1 to 2 day volunteers) are welcome, however, registration priority is given to full-time volunteers. All parents are welcome to volunteer with tasks before, during and after camp on a part-time basis, e.g., station preparation, sorting/counting, labeling, putting camp gear back in storage after camp, etc.
We are looking for a couple of positions on our camp leadership team if you are interested, please contact Heidi/Tator Tot or Sara/Knit Knot. We NEED more adult leaders, the craft station and camp unit photographer and if you are crafty/creative we could use someone to help with leader recognition.
What should my camper bring to camp?
A camper letter will be sent closer to camp with details but here is an idea of what to bring every day:
What should my camper wear to camp? Campers should wear seasonal and weather appropriate clothing.
What will my child eat at camp?
Your camper must bring a hardy lunch to camp (everyday). Small snacks are provided once each day, however PLEASE note that these are just snacks and only supplement their meal.
My child would like to attend with a friend. Can they be together at camp?
Your child has the option to list a camp buddy during the online registration process. Note the camp buddy must be in the same grade. It is helpful for them to list your child as their "buddy" or list a troop number. Buddy placement is not guaranteed, though we strive to assign girls to units with at least one buddy when possible so that it is the best experience for everyone!
What does a typical day look like?
A typical day schedule is below:
9am - 9:15am Each day at camp starts at 9am with drop-off, songs and our opening ceremony.
9:20am - Noon Units rotate through activities focused on our camp theme, e.g. games, team-building, outdoor skills, etc.
Noon - Lunch is brought from home and lots of conversation is shared!
1pm - 3:30pm A couple more unit rotations
3:30pm Time to clean up, closing ceremony and then say farewell to friends.
3:45pm Time to go home and get ready for our next day at camp!
